Free walking tours in Bucharest

Do you plan a city break in Bucharest any time soon? The walking tour is free of charge!

As I was saying in a previous article, the capital of Romania can be seen in at least 2 days, starting the visit in the Old town and then strolling along Calea Victoriei.  There a lot of places to visit, buildings to admire and things to do. Be sure not to miss during your visit:

  • Old Town
  • Primăverii Palace
  • Parliament Palace
  • Calea Victoriei
  • Romanian Athenaeum
  • Cișmigiu Park
  • The Arch of Triumph
  • Village Museum

A group of people passionated about history and art – who are willing to share their free time and knowledge – decided to make this tours every day. Besides English, the guides can speak French, German, Spanish and Italian. The free walking tours have 2 options:

Tour 1 – Monarchy versus Communism. Meeting point: Romanian Athenaeum, 1-3 Franklin street. Starting time: 6PM (18:00).

Tour 2 – Old Town Legends & Stories. Meeting point: Hanul lui Manuc, 62-64 Franceza street, St Anton square. Starting time: 10:30AM (10:30).

Duration: around 2,5 hours.

My personal tip upon your visit in Bucharest is to go at this place, named Cărturești Carusel, it is a library with a special architecture and it also has a nice place to have a drink.
