After an awful flu, this ballet was my first evening out after a long while. This show is different regarding the story, the costumes, the place where the action takes place, it seems so much different than the classical European works like The Swan Lake, Giselle, and so on. Just before the ballet started, I thought about how little of the Asian culture reaches Europe.

One of the best known and most played works, I liked a lot La Traviata seen on the Bucharest National Opera scene, more than any other operas I have seen so far.

The Nutcracker at the National Opera
This season, the National Opera Bucharest had the premiere of the ballet The Nutcracker by Piotr Ilici Ceaikovski. The libretto is signed by Marius Petipa after Alexandre Dumas’s version of E.T.A.
